Balanced scorecard – The effective methodology for the company’s goal setting

The Balanced scorecard method was developed by Robert Kaplan, a professor at Harvard University, and David Norton, also a consultant from the Boston area in 1990. Based on the methodology, the company’s strategy and vision can be translated into 4 categories of indicators:
• Finance
• Internal procedures
• Education and development
• Customer

In this way the company can effectively monitor the implementation of its strategy as it transforms it into indicators and goals that are understood and applicable in everyday life by the company’s personnel.
PRIORITY is able to assist the company to implement effectively the methodology either independently or within a project of another standard such as ISO 9001. The basic steps followed are:
• The current situation is evaluated regarding the 4 categories of indicators
• A workshop is conducted with company executives to determine the measured indicators.
• The mechanism of monitoring and evaluation of the indicators is defined so that the company can be able to directly and easily monitor the level of implementation of its strategy.
