The standard ISO / TS 16949:2009 concerns the development of a Quality Management System and includes the specific requirements for the implementation of ISO 9001:2008 in the automotive and auto parts production.
The additional requirements are designed to prevent deficiencies (non-compliance), to reduce disparities (from a standard specification) and reduce scrap throughout the Supply Chain.
The standard ISO / TS 16949:2009 combines all the applicable requirements of the worldwide automotive industry (VDA 6.1, AVSQ, QS-9000, EAQF) for Quality Management Systems and is recognized by the American and European automakers.
PRIORITY during developing Quality Management Systems according to the standard ISO / TS 16949:2009, gives special emphasis to the following:
- Development of detailed Quality / Control Plans
- Identification of the risks to product quality and preventing errors rather than focus on the detection and recording
- Development of work instructions for implementation of production control and product acceptance in case of deviation
- Specification of the production planning so as to confirm the delivery time of product
- Defining responsibilities and parties with the right of taking the decision to stop production in case of failure
- Planning, implementation and monitoring of preventive maintenance of equipment
- Quality objectives (included in Business Plan) in line with the Quality Policy
- Control of incoming materials / raw materials in accordance with agreed standards
- Monitoring and evaluating suppliers
- Employee training, developing skills and motivating employees to achieve quality objectives
- Optimal management of raw materials and products to avoid unnecessary movement within the production site
- Development of crisis management plans
- Risk management for health and safety of workers
- Development of cleaning plan, cleaning instructions, etc.
