BS 25999-2:2007 is a standard that refers to the Business Continuity Management, applying a holistic management process that recognizes potential threats to an enterprise and its consequences.
Assessment, planning and testing emergency plans reduces the impact of any potential disruption to the business operations (eg providing products / services to customers). Even in "extreme" exceptional cases, a well-documented and effective Business Continuity System will help the operation recovery, thus protecting the brand name, reputation and market share.
The standard BS 25999-2:2007 was issued in November 2007 and provides the framework for the development of operational resilience. In the same series there is the standard BS 25999-1:2006 (Code of Practice), which provides guidance for the application of BS 25999-2:2007.
