The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) has published a guide of good practices for IVF laboratories based on EU directives 2006/17EC and 2006/86EC. The content of the guidelines includes the following topics:

  • Staffing
  • Policy and procedures
  • Health and safety of facilities and staff
  • Maintenance and calibration of equipment
  • Traceability of samples
  • Maintenance, treatment of cells
  • Cell Cryopreservation
ESHRE hopes that the guideline may assist the laboratory staff to operate according to the requirements of harmonization , implementation, inspection and certification that are common to all European member states.
