Also describes the minimum commissioning tests, inspection criteria and documentation expected to verify the safe installation and correct operation of the system. Is written for grid connected PV systems only.

The new standard ISO 18292:2011 contributes in calculating the energy performance of glazing systems for residential buildings. The implementation of the standard gives the fenestration industry and its customers, a reliable method to assess the energy performance of their products before placing at the market for consumer use. In this way the new ISO standard will help reducing loss of energy - and money - that "escape" from windows, doors, etc.

The new international standard ISO 50001 "Energy management systems - Requirements with guidance for use" is targeted for publication in third quarter of 2011. ISO 50001 specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system, whose purpose is to enable an organization to follow a systematic approach in achieving continual improvement of energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and consumption.

Over their life cycle, buildings absorb considerable resources and contribute to the transformation of the environment. As a result, they can have considerable consequences and impacts on the environment. In order to measure and understand this impact, methods of assessment are used to determine the environmental performance of buildings and their related external works.
The framework elaborated in ISO 21931-1:2010, Sustainability in building construction - Framework for methods of assessment of the environmental performance of construction works - Part 1: Buildings, identifies and describes issues to be taken into account in the development and use of methods in assessing the environmental performance of buildings, both new and existing. Such assessments can be used for benchmarking performance and monitoring progress towards improvement and sustainable development.

 Ο Διεθνής Οργανισμός Τυποποίησης (ISO) εξέδωσε το τελικό προσχέδιο του προτύπου ISO 50001 που αφορά τη διαχείριση ενέργειας. Το πρότυπο αναπτύχθηκε με βάση τα υπόλοιπα πρότυπα διαχείρισης ISO 9001 και ISO 14001 με τα οποία παρουσιάζει μεγάλη συμβατότητα και μπορεί να συνδυαστεί σε ένα Σύστημα Διαχείρισης Ποιότητας. Το πρότυπο παρέχει ένα πλαίσιο για τη σωστή χρήση των ενεργειακών πόρων, περιλαμβάνοντας καλές πρακτικές για τη μείωση των εκπεμπόμενων ρύπων και την εφαρμογή νέων ενεργειακά αποδοτικών τεχνολογιών. Ο Διεθνής Οργανισμός Τυποποίησης αναμένεται να εκδώσει επίσημα το πρότυπο στις αρχές του 2011 και αφού λάβει υπόψη του τα σχόλια των εμπλεκόμενων εταίρων.
