Two standards related ISO 9001:2008 implementation are being revised by ISO (International Organization for Standardization). These standards are:

• ISO 15378 - Primary packaging materials for medicinal products - Particular requirements for the application of ISO 9001, with reference to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). This standard specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to provide primary packaging materials for medicinal products, which consistently meet customer requirements, including regulatory requirements and International Standards applicable to primary packaging materials.
• ISO/IEC 90003 - Software engineering: Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001 to computer software. This standard provides guidance for organizations in the application of ISO 9001:2000 to the acquisition, supply, development, operation and maintenance of computer software and related support services. ISO/IEC 90003:2004 does not add to or otherwise change the requirements of ISO 9001:2000.
